Your Tasks

• Coordinate the Cloud Center of Excellence team to drive impact and value to our whole dev organization at MediaMarktSaturn
• Conduct trainings, cross-shadows, build on MVPs / POCs, test and play with cutting edge technology and patterns, and never stop learning on better ways to accomplish tasks
• Be a leader (m/f/d) for the team and the whole organization to also have a positive impact in driving the DevOps culture and the Growth Mindset
• Significantly influences Solution Architecture for the whole organization
• Influences the backlog for the most impactful driving initiatives
• Champions technology best practices and ensures they are followed by respective competency team
• Is an active part of the technical community for the respective competency

Your Profile

• Experience in building and managing a passionate and high-performing team
• Expert with Kubernetes, microservice setups, and everything touching this area
• Strong interest in cloud-native applications and infrastructure, e.g., provisioning software to the cloud, CI/CD pipelines, or lift & shift concepts
• Always curious to test out new patterns and tech, especially open-source tools
• Extensive experience in cloud platforms (GCP preferred, Azure nice to have) and IaC
• Familiar with common DevOps practices using K8s, Terraform, Github, Opsgenie, Jenkins, etc.  and programming languages 
• Agile way of working and a basic understanding of SCRUM
• Able to communicate to Top Management as well as to Engineers
• Fluent in English, German would be a plus

Your Tasks

• You take on a responsible role in the development of the backend systems for our store apps, that help our colleagues in the stores to optimize their internal processes and therefore improve the customer experience 
• You take on a key role in defining requirements and solutions in cooperation with product owners 
• You take ownership for the services and apps of the team and maintain and operate them in our cloud infrastructure while always trying to optimize them 
• You share your knowledge with your team colleagues helping them and therefore contributing to the growth of the whole team 

Your Profile

• You have several years of work experience as a Backend Engineer and have built and operated an application in production in the past, preferably in the area of e-commerce 
• NodeJS and TypeScript is your first choice when it comes to developing modern Backend Systems 
• As quality is at the center of your work, you aim to test each and every line of code and prefer to use TypeScript, which you have already used in production in the past 
• The backends you build follow the principles of IOC, are modular and expose GraphQL interfaces which our apps love to consume 
• You have practical experiences with NoSQL data bases like MongoDB 
• You are familiar with the whole application life cycle and therefore are comfortable with building, deploying and operating your application as micro services in a cloud infrastructure 
• The code bases you have worked with in the past made you think about a mono repo approach 
• You are familiar with the OAuth 2 Standard and naturally use it in your projects 
• You have a strong team spirit, are used to work in an agile team and have no problem with freedom and responsibility
